Care InstructionsKashmir willow bats are denser and harder than English willow bats, so they need less preparation. Still, a bit of care will help them last longer.
Read the brand’s instructions first. Oil the face only if the brand recommends it.
 If you need to oil the bat, use only a thin layer and wipe off any extra. Too much oil will make the bat heavy.
Lightly knock in the face and edges with a bat mallet before using it in a match.
Begin in the nets with an old, soft ball.
Keep it in a bat cover when you are not playing.
Store it in a cool, dry place.
Wipe the blade clean with a soft, dry cloth after use.
Check the edges and toe for cracks now and then.
Add an anti-scuff sheet or a toe guard for extra protection if you want your bat to last longer.
Do not over-oil your new bat.
Don’t use new, hard leather balls early.
Don’t leave it in the sun, in a hot car, or in a damp room.
Don’t hit with the blade’s edges or back side.
Do not expect it to last as long as an English willow bat if you use it frequently with leather balls.
For hybrid bats, use these same care steps unless the brand gives different instructions.
